Linda NiChualladhHead of Privacy (Legal) EMEA and Assistant General Counsel at Citi
Linda joined Citi in early 2018 to take up the position of Head of Privacy (Legal) for EMEA. Prior to Citi, Linda was both the Regulatory and Competition Counsel for the An Post group where she also acted as the lead counsel for Data Protection for the development of the Data Protection practice and rollout of GDPR both within the group and as part of its functions under EU law and as part of the United Nations UPU. Prior to An Post, Linda was part of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission in Ireland working on cross-border investigations, development of international merger principles and guidelines and represented the Commission at meetings of the ECN, OECD and ICN organizations. Working in the private sector Linda’s main focus was WTO and trade law with a specific emphasis on competition law and antitrust. A graduate of law with emphasis on EU studies from University College Dublin, Linda also attended university in Hanover in Germany and won a scholarship for her PhD studies in the European University Institute in Florence, Italy on Antitrust and Market Power analysis. She is a member of the Legal500’s General Counsel Power List since it began in Ireland and her team has also been included in the Legal500 Ireland Teams Power List twice. Linda is a proud privacy and tech nerd and competition geek.
