What was on the 2019 agenda?

Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation

In February 2019, the European Commission published a road-map on its planned evaluation of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation. Hear directly from the Commission on their plans and join our interactive panel session focusing on how different parts of the market including manufacturers, suppliers and dealers would like to see the regulation reformed.

Review Key National Developments

During this ever-popular session our speaker panel will ensure that you are fully up to date with current regulatory, enforcement and case law developments from across Europe. With a focus on key jurisdictions including Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and UK.

Vehicle Connectivity & Autonomous Driving

Examine what competition law challenges are posed by e-mobility, connected vehicles and autonomous driving. Our expert panel of speakers will analyse the relationship between data protection, privacy and competition law focusing on who should be able to access the data and under which terms.

Trucks & Follow on Damages

Analyse where we are now with Trucks litigation across Europe with a specific focus on the UK, Spain, the Netherlands (including collective claims) and Germany. Join this session to gain a full update on how follow on damages are evolving across Europe following the implementation of the Damages Directive.

Recent Trends in Mergers & Joint Ventures

As the political landscape becomes more protectionist, we will examine how the EU is treating Chinese state-owned investors and how Foreign Direct Investment rules apply to the motor vehicle sector. Recent mergers and the impact of BMW/ Daimler on technical cooperation and mobility as a service will also be analysed.

Access to Networks & Distribution Agreements

Gain an update on the consultation on the general competition framework for distribution agreements including what active vs passive sales mean in the motor vehicle sector. This session will examine access to networks after Kia, dealers as franchises and the role of dealers in an online world.
