Legal Advisor at Autoridade da Concorrência

Rita Prates is a Legal Advisor in Autoridade da Concorrência, the Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC). Rita has an extensive practice in Competition and EU Law, mainly in the energy sector, both in the private sector, as Lawyer of PLMJ – Sociedade de Advogados, a tier-one Portuguese Law Firm, and in the Public Sector, working for Autoridade da Concorrência and the European Commission - DG Competition. Rita, on behalf of AdC, has also served as Co-Chair of the Merger Working Group of ECN (European Competition Network), for the years of 2018-2020.

Rita holds an LLM degree in EU and Competition Law from King’s College – University of London, a Post-Graduation in Energy Law from the University of Lisbon – Faculty of Law, a Post-Graduation in Corporate Law and a Law degree from the Catolica’s University of Lisbon.
