Susan BeardCulinary Operations Manager at Slim Chickens Restaurants
Chef Susan Beard is the Culinary Operations Manager for Slim Chickens Restaurants. Since joining Slims in 2017, she has been creating delicious, crave-able recipes, limited time offers, and promotional items that increase brand loyalty and drive traffic and sales. Susan continually works to improve existing product and recipe quality, efficiency, and speed to deliver the best possible guest experience.
Chef Susan grew up in Clemson, SC where she fell in love with college football, Southern food, and meals that are social and bring together communities. From the age of three when Santa brought an Easy Bake Oven, she has been experimenting with new recipes and asking folks to try them. During her teen years she worked doing both catering for ARA Foodservice and research in the Plant Pathology and Physiology Lab at Clemson University.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Hendrix College, Susan decided to make her hobby her career and moved to Houston, TX where she earned her Culinary Arts Degree from the Art Institute of Houston while working full-time as the Kitchen Manager at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. Chef Susan has spent the last 20 years honing her skills in several different styles of restaurants and was most recently the Executive Chef of a large hotel and convention center.
Chef Susan lives in Springdale, AR with her husband, Brandon, and two amazing daughters, Ruby and Alexa. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking meals for friends and family, serving at her church, volunteering at her kid’s schools, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers.
