Innovation and Adoption of Technology Award
Awarded to nominees demonstrating a significant contribution to moving the maritime industry along the digital technology track to positively impact crews in any of the following areas: marine training and education / seafarer welfare / seafarer recruitment or engagement / professional advancement.
Welfare and Corporate Social Responsibility Award
This award recognises a leading corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy or initiative delivered in the past year, with a measurable impact on crews or wider communities.
Safety at Sea Award
Awarded to a company, individual or team who have implemented significant technical, procedural, or operational improvements leading to reduction of risk to human life at sea.
Seafarer of the Year Award
Awarded to an active seafarer, someone who has stood out in the past twelve months as making a real difference to the crew and operations onboard.
Industry Solutions Award
This Award recognises an industry supplier demonstrating a significant contribution to moving the maritime industry along the innovation track to positively impact crews in any of the following areas: marine training and education / seafarer welfare / seafarer recruitment or engagement / professional advancement.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is to honour an individual who has made a significant and lasting contribution to shipping and the maritime industry.
JUDGING PANEL
Entries are judged by an independent panel of distinguished industry leaders. The judging panel will be looking for excellence, innovation and role models in an industry keeping pace with change occurring at unparalleled speed.
CHECK YOUR ENTRY MEETS THE CRITERIA
You’d be surprised how many entries get rejected due to ‘technical slip’ such as being in the wrong category or wrong year. Our eagle-eyed judges will check the criteria. You should too.
Stick to the word limit
No-one wants to wade through an overblown entry full of frothy platitudes on why your entry is the best. Stick to the word limit. Always.
The word limit for the entry is 1000 words.
The word limit for the synopsis is 100 words.
Provide supplemental information
Our judges do a surprising amount of research into the shortlisted entries. Make their job easy by including links to online videos, webinars or articles that support your entry. Don’t get silly though. Tweets of your favourite cat gif will not go down well.
We encourage you to enter more than one category.
There is no limit to the number of categories you can enter. A single project, deal or technology solution could work fora.com. a number of categories.
Set free your inner journalist
Cub reporters at media school have the ‘What, Where, When, and How’ drummed into them from day one. What is the entry about? Where did it take place? When did it happen? How did it come about? You can add one more: Why is it significant to the industry?
Hit the deadline.
Late entries get binned. Nobody wants that.
