Chairman & Founder of the Viking Maritime Group which comprises of Viking Crew, Chiltern Maritime and The Maritime Skills Academy. Over the last 30 years Dieter has brought the business from a start-up in Dover to a global organisation, with offices in Guernsey, Fort Lauderdale, Manila and Auckland.
Dieter went to sea in 1967 as a Deck Apprentice, sailed up to the rank of Chief Officer, then coming ashore in 1976 and has since worked in Maritime HR and Training for multi-national shipping companies, before creating Viking in 1988.
Dieter was honoured with a Merchant Navy Medal in 2013 and he is fully committed to serving the Maritime Community as Chair of the Standing Joint Policy Committee of the Dreadnought medical service in London.
He is a Founding Board member of Britannia Maritime Aid, past President of The International Superyacht Society, board member of the Merchant Navy Training Board and a Younger Brother at Trinity House.
