Mike McEnroe
Vice President Human Resources at Royal Caribbean International


Mike McEnroe leads the Regional Operating Headquarters of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL).  As Vice President-Managing Director of the Philippine operations, he leads more than 750 employees in developing existing and new functions that include Human Resources, Customer Care and Shared Services for RCL’s six owned and affiliated cruise brands that altogether deploy over 60 ships.  He oversees various teams dedicated to ensuring the best employee experience possible for RCL’s ship crew population of about 80,000.

Mike obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in 1996 from the University of Michigan Law School.  His Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, was awarded by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1984.   Mike also was a member of the US Army Reserve Officer Training Corps while at the University of Wisconsin and was recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate.

Upon completing his undergraduate degree, Mike was commissioned as a regular officer with the United States Army and served for nine years as an army officer in South Korea, West Germany, Arizona, Maryland and Washington D.C.  Mike’s distinguished military service culminated with a two-year assignment as the Senior Duty Officer in the White House Situation Room during the Presidential administrations of George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. 

Following his nine-year military service, Mike attended law school.  Upon completing law school, Mike passed the California bar exam and practiced law with the distinguished international law firm of Paul Hastings, LLP.  Mike specialized in Labor and Employment Law, including union relations, discrimination, harassment and wage and hour.  Mike also served as in-house legal counsel for The Home Depot and General Counsel for Intercon Security Systems.  Mike remains a member in good standing with the California bar.

While at The Home Depot, Mike moved into Human Resources in 2002.  Since that move, he has held successive senior Human Resources leadership roles in the retail, sales, manufacturing and services industries.  Prior to joining RCL, Mike spent seven years with the Coca-Cola system in Los Angeles, Atlanta and London UK.  While there, he served in various human resources executive roles including interim Chief Human Resources Officer for Coca-Cola European Partners, leading HR for all sales and bottling in Western Europe, and VP, Human Resources for Coca-Cola Refreshments, where he led HR for over 80 manufacturing plants and 400 distribution centers in the United States and Canada.

In 2018, Mike joined Royal Caribbean as Vice President, Human Resources, leading HR for the Royal Caribbean International brand.  Mike assumed his current role as Vice President & Managing Director, RCL Regional Operating Headquarters in July 2019.
