Pam KernFounder at Happiness at Sea
As the founder of Happiness at Sea, Pam designs maritime specific prevention and intervention programs. She includes the unique synergy of evidence-based and evidence-informed research and first-hand knowledge as a former seafarer, a mental health professional and wife of a seafarer. Incorporating the ship environment and home life dynamics that influences seafarer behavior, her programs mitigate risk and improve wellbeing by reducing fatigue, increase happiness and resiliency.
Pam has over 20 years of experience working within the cruise industry, both as a crew member herself with Holland America Line and in land-based operations for Carnival Cruise Lines. Pam received a Masters of Social Work from Columbia University and is a licensed LMSW. She also holds a certificate in Business Analytics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
