Captain Robert Fay joined International Registries, Inc. (IRI) as the Vice President, Seafarers’ Documentation in January 2003, and was made Senior Vice President, Maritime Operations in December 2004. Captain Fay has extensive seagoing experience after almost 27 years of ocean going service in the U.S. Merchant Marine, serving as a Deck Officer on a variety of vessel types, including 15 years as Master of Fast Sealift Ships; 30-knot capable container-Ro/Ro vessels in international service. He earned his B.S. in Marine Transportation Management from the State University of New York Maritime College. As the Senior Vice President for Maritime Operations at IRI, he utilizes his expertise and experience to direct daily maritime operations, review and evaluate safety and manning requirements, training programs, and qualifications for the seafarers serving aboard the more than forty-six hundred vessels flying the Marshall Islands flag worldwide. Captain Fay also serves as the Marshall Islands Maritime Administrator’s representative to the HTW sub-committee of the Maritime Safety Committee at the IMO.
