Alero Balogun is Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Oando PLC where she heads the internal and external brand-building efforts for the Group. An advocate for digital ‘Guerilla Marketing’, Alero has over 17 years’ experience in Marketing and Communications where she’s played a pivotal role leading various teams to develop and launch some of the most dynamic initiatives to date.

Alero started her career at Oando in 2013 as the Corporate Communications Manager, a role she held for 4 years before rising to her current position. She presently heads the Group’s internal advertising agency - a strong communications team across Branding, Public Relations and Digital Media with the remit of driving positive brand perception both internally and externally to showcase Oando as the most desirable company to work and invest in.

Under her sphere of activity, Alero successfully managed the strategic development and execution of local and international campaigns for Oando's N1.6bn acquisition of ConocoPhillips Nigeria in 2014. She is passionate about crisis management, cause marketing and flawless execution. She has shared in depth knowledge and learnings through various thought leadership speaking opportunities in and out of the energy sector.

Prior to joining the company, Alero worked in various marketing organisations in Europe and Africa with oversight on brands such as Microsoft, Columbia Tristar, Cadbury, Elizabeth Arden, and Virgin Nigeria.

Alero holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from the University of Central England, Birmingham, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Advertising and Marketing from the University of Leeds.
