Dr. Summer Starling is a social scientist with over 15 years’ experience in public health. At the Duke University School of Medicine, she has led qualitative and mixed methods research studies to collect and integrate stakeholder input into the clinical research process. As part of the Department of Population Health at Duke SOM, she recently completed a qualitative evaluation to compare user experiences of standard versus enhanced electronic informed consent tools. Summer is now a Project Manager at the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative, where she is accelerating progress towards the Transforming Trials 2030 vision. Dr. Starling received a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in sociomedical sciences from Columbia University.
