Lu Zhang is the Founder and Managing Partner of Fusion Fund, a renowned Silicon Valley based investor, a serial entrepreneur and a Stanford Material Science & Engineering alumna. Founded in 2015, Fusion Fund, a billions-of-dollar capital, is active in supporting early-stage entrepreneurs who are looking to build globally disruptive companies using innovative technologies to drive systemic change originating from the U.S. market. Lu leads the management team with mostly Stanford backgrounds consisting of seasonal investors, distinguished entrepreneurs and the U.S. National Academy Engineering scientists. Lu funnels exposure from media including Forbes, CNBC, TechCrunch, the Phoenix TV, etc., and has witnessed remarkable exits of multiple portfolios’ IPO and M&As.

Last year, Lu received the title of 2018 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (Davos). Before this, she got selected as Silicon Valley Women of Influence 2018, Top 10 all America Chinese Youth and Top 30 early-stage investor in the Global Entrepreneurship Week. In 2017, she was awarded as the Forbes US 30 under 30 & Featured Honoree of VC category. As the first Chinese covered in the U.S. VC category in Forbes, she received the Forbes Asia 30 under 30 of Finance category in the same time. Lu was later selected as the Town & Country 50 Modern Swans Influencer. Being the first Chinese to receive this honor, she represents the top female entrepreneurs and influencers in the U.S. In the same year, Lu was selected in the Hurun Midas List as the TOP 30 early-stage investor. Prior to starting Fusion Fund, Lu was the Founder and CEO of a medical device company focused on non-invasive technology for the early diagnosis of Type II diabetes (acquired in 2012).

Lu is active in the entrepreneur and investor communities providing mentorship and serves as an advisor to programs like Microsoft AC, NASA-partnered Singularity University, StartX at Stanford, and Youth Council of Future Forum.
