Rahul K. ParikhAssistant Physician-in-Chief, Diablo Service Area at The Permanente Medical Group
Dr. Rahul Parikh is a practicing pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente’s Walnut Creek and Antioch Medical Centers, which care for over 400,000 of Kaiser Permanente’s members in Northern California. As an Associate-Physician-in-Chief there, he oversees areas of medical center operations and Performance Improvement. He also serves in The Permanente Medical Group’s Technology Leadership, where he helps lead efforts related to Patient Communication and Engagement. These projects include Video Visits, remote patient monitoring, on demand video language interpretation, mobile apps and web products developed by the TPMG Technology Group.
In addition to his work for the medical group, Dr. Parikh is a writer has published many articles in print and online media about health and medicine. Publishers include the MIT Technology Review, the New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Lost Angeles Times Slate and Salon. He has authored or co-authored several peer reviewed publications as well.
Dr. Parikh attended the University of California, Berkeley and the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. He trained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He lives in the East Bay with his wife, also a physician and physician leader and his two daughters.
