Heath Bailey

Founding Principal at Vernus International School

Heath has an unwavering commitment to reimagining and transforming education. He seeks to eliminate disparities and resource gaps which exist in education globally. 

His approach and passion have been developed throughout his 24 years as a research practitioner, civic leader, and developer of school communities.

Born in the United States, Heath has worked for the Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, and private schools in the UAE since 2013.

Early in his educational journey, he worked in Student Affairs as a Director, for two large universities.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s in Business Education, and both Level I and II School Supervisory/K-12 Principal Certification from the Pennsylvania State Department of Education.

Heath credits his, optimism and teamwork approach to his development as an athlete and, later coach.  He is played NCAA Division 1 basketball before earning his degrees.

He is the Founding Principal for Vernus International School in Dubai, which offers a specialized education program centered around Project-Based Learning, innovation, STEM, sports, and wellbeing.

Heath lives in Dubai with his wife Elle and daughter Maya age 3.
