Monique Flickinger
Future Superintendent at ACS


Monique Flickinger is the Superintendent at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. As part of her overall responsibility for the execution of ACS’ strategic plan, her focuses include personalized learning, delivering excellence, inspiring global citizens and growing community. She also is
overseeing the design and transition of the school to a new, state-of-the-art campus.

Joining ACS in 2018, Monique brings more than 30 years of teaching and leadership to her role. She previously served as the head at the Metropolitan School of Panama, a rapidly growing K-12 school, where some of her major achievements included finalizing and designing a new campus, and overseeing the authorization of the first IB continuum school in Central America. Previously, she served in a number of leadership roles, including Director of Instructional Technology, Middle School IB Principal and Assistant Principal at several schools in the United States, Canada and Costa Rica. Prior to that, she started and owned one of the first digital newspapers in Canada and was named Young Entrepreneur of Canada, based on her leadership and technological contributions within the media industry. She began her career as a Mathematics teacher.

Monique earned a Master of Education from University of Victoria and a bachelor’s degree in
Mathematics from Brigham Young University. She currently is writing her dissertation for her
Doctorate from the University of Wyoming.
