Dr Steven Reissig is currently the Chief Academic Zone Officer at Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone. The Academic Zone licenses all international university branch campuses in Ras Al Khaimah, as well as licensing private educational consultancy firms and freelancers who open businesses in the free zone.

Prior to joining, Dr Reissig has held a number of key roles in the education sector globally including CEO of Education Improvement Partners FZC, Senior Education Advisor (external) for McKinsey & Company supporting a major transformative education project in Pakistan, Advisor to the Undersecretary of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Principal consultant school improvement with the Economic Development Board in Bahrain, and Strategic education sector consulting and leadership in large-scale transformation projects.

Dr Reissig has worked in the UAE, Kingdom of Bahrain, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, across GCC countries and Australia. His doctoral degree focused on educational leadership, attributes of effective teachers and empathy.
