Stefan SavonenSenior Vice President Energy and Climate at LKAB
Stefan has more than 20 years of experience within energy and climate related areas, including more than ten years in the Mining industry. Stefan has published several articles concerning the use of energy in the Mining industry and is also an inventor of patented technology to reduce NOx in pelletising plants.
After master’s level studies in energy at Mid Sweden University, Stefan worked as a university lecturer and, in his last years at the university, as a director of education in energy and electrical engineering,
Stefan also has experience in energy production at different management levels and is a former CEO for an energy producing company.
Stefan started his career in LKAB in the early 90s as an operation technician in a pelletizing plant before he went to university, and thereafter when Stefan returned to LKAB 15 years later, he built up an R&D department in energy end emissions. The last 10 years Stefan has had different roles in LKAB and he is now responsible for energy and climate for the LKAB group.
