Henry Huertas holds a MSc. Bacteriology degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His experience in alcohol and ethanol industries spans for about three decades. He started doing research at the Rum Pilot Plant (University of Puerto Rico) for 5 years were he participates in yeast and bacteria fermentations. He worked with rum producer Destilería Serrallés, Inc. for 17 years and with Ethanol Performance Group (Phibro Animal Health Corporation) for 7 years. Since 2015 he has been servicing the industry through his own company, Fermentation Consultants Inc. providing fermentation process audits and fermentation training to customers in Europe, North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. He specializes in yeast health and performance and has a yeast collection for rum production. Recently he signed an agreement with Peter Cremer to sale molasses in the Caribbean region.
