Avantika has 15 years’ of experience in providing economic advice on competition matters and commercial disputes, and co-leads Oxera’s antitrust practice. She has advised on a broad range of matters, including in relation to mergers, horizontal and vertical agreements, abuse of dominance and damages, in the context of investigations by the European Commission and other competition authorities, and private litigation. She has broad sectoral experience, with specific expertise in digital, technology and life sciences sectors. Her clients include companies such as Booking.com, Microsoft, Google, Ericsson, Skyscanner, Tesla, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Merck. She is also an expert on issues in the interface of antitrust and intellectual property, such as licensing of standard essential patents, cross-licensing disputes, and patent settlement agreements.
Avantika has acted as testifying expert in antitrust and damages litigation and in wider commercial disputes, including in front of the High Court in England & Wales, the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal, and courts in Ireland, India and the Netherlands. She is regularly involved in providing training on competition economics to EU judges. Avantika is listed in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists and is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and other volumes.
