Mélanie Bruneau is a partner in the Brussels office of K&L Gates and is a member of the Firm’s Antitrust, Competition and Trade Regulation group. She is registered with the Paris and the Brussels bars (E-list). Ms. Bruneau advises large multinationals and trade associations on all aspects of EU competition law. Her practice focuses on advising clients a variety of industrial sectors, including transport, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and cosmetics, energy, manufacturing, chemicals and IT on the legal aspects of their business activities, with a particular emphasis on regulatory compliance. She has significant experience in cartel investigations and sector inquiry investigations. In terms of merger control, Mélanie has developed expertise in advising potential suitable buyers to acquire divested business. Ms. Bruneau regularly advises clients on global antitrust compliance programs. She has also experience in advising on vertical agreements, including exclusive distribution and supply, as well as horizontal agreements, joint ventures and consortiums. Ms. Bruneau is a visiting professor at the University of Lille in France. She is a regular contributor to legal and business publications on merger control and general competition law matters. Ms. Bruneau has also acted as an Expert for the European Commission in the context of the Horizon 2020 programme for research and innovation.
