Amy Shinkman
Vice President, Export Credit Insurance at Export-Import Bank of the U.S.


Amy Shinkman is the Vice President of the Export Credit Insurance division at the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (“EXIM”) based in Washington DC. Her group is responsible for underwriting EXIM’s short-term export credit insurance policies, including both single and multibuyer policies issued to exporters as well as to financial institutions.  She joined EXIM in January 2011 as the Director of Broker Relations, transferring to underwriting in 2013, first as a Senior Loan Officer and later as a Director managing the single buyer and bank-held insurance policies.

Prior to her time at EXIM, Amy spent three years in Singapore as the Asia-Pacific Regional Manager for Atradius Special Products following seven years working as a trade credit and political risk underwriter in the London market with NCM, AIG, and Atradius. Amy began her career with the U.S. State Department covering Middle East economic issues in Washington DC and Tel Aviv. 

She has an MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BA in East Asian Studies from Brown University.
