Pekka KarkovirtaChair at the Participants to the Arrangement on Officially Supported Export Credits, OECD
Mr. Pekka Karkovirta is the Chairman of the Participants to the Arrangement on Officially Supported Export Credits, the position of which he has been having since 2012. Previously and within the OECD context, he has chaired various negotiation or technical groups such as ECA Environmental Practitioners, Tied Aid Consultations, Stakeholder Meetings, Export Credits Group, Aircraft Sector Understanding, Export Credits for Coal-fired Electricity Generation Projects, etc.
He has also been actively working in other fora such the European Union, the IWG and the Berne Union having an experience of more than 20 years in the area of negotiating international disciplines and best practices for export credits. His daily work is in the official Export Credit Agency of Finland, Finnvera, as Vice President for International Relations where he is in charge, among other things, of business intelligence and ECA benchmarking. He is frequently being consulted on various export credit issues - from export credit regulatory points to ECA best practices. Mr. Karkovirta holds M.Sc.(Econ.) degree from the Helsinki School of Economics.
