Dr. Sebastian Hofert von Weiss is EYAHB’s Head of Project Finance. He has almost 20 years of experience in providing commercial and financial advice to ECAs, IFIs and MLAs and in representing them on landmark mega-projects across all industry sectors.
Sebastian has served numerous leading ECAs and MLAs (including Atradius DSB, Bpifrance, CESCE, Coface, EDC, Euler Hermes, the European Investment Bank, FIEM, Finnvera, GIEK, JBIC, KEXIM, K-Sure, Nexi, PIF, SERV, SACE, UKEF and US Ex-Im Bank) on important occasions such as various Cruise Ship Fleet financings, the Pengerang Energy Complex, the CFXD Offshore Wind Farm Project, the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm Project, the BAPCO Modernization Program, the Liwa Plastics Industries Complex, the Porto de Sergipe I Project, the Galloper Offshore Wind Farm, the Gemini Offshore Wind Farm, the Nghi Son Refinery & Petrochemical Project, the Sadara Project, the Emirates Aluminium Project or the Surgil Gas Field Project. Many of these transactions have received prestigious awards and are recognized for the great achievements of the teams working on them in the marketplace.
Since the Corona Crisis Sebastian is also very active in domestic rescue operations of governments in support of businesses suffering from the impacts of the pandemic.
Together with his team, some time ago, Sebastian has launched EYAHBs Global ECA Coordination Practice, an exciting move that has put EYAHB one step ahead of the market by mirroring the global approach of Export Credit Agencies to large ventures that require concerted international efforts. Ever since then this truly market-changing approach is offering dramatically improved service to agencies, lenders and investors and has changed the landscape of ECA financing in the project finance world and beyond.
Dr. Sebastian Hofert von Weiss has represented almost all leading ECAs around the globe in international project financings in various sectors and industries as ECA advisor and ECA coordinator. He is trusted by the ECAs as their “honest broker” of solutions and as spokesperson for the group.
