Robert Frank is Global Head of Insurance and Risk Mitigation for the Gerald Group, based in London.
Mr. Frank has over 20 years’ experience in international global commodity markets and is responsible for implementing and managing the Group's International Trade Credit, Political Risk, and Cargo Marine insurance strategies, in conjunction with providing transaction implementation/funding solutions in support of the Group's structured trade and commodity finance/merchant banking requirements.
Previously, Mr. Frank was a co-founder and partner in one of the first U.S./Russian finance companies, New Alliance Corporation, during which time he was responsible for arranging one of the largest international ECA project/trade financings between the U.S. and Russia for the defence conversion of the Russian metallurgical company KRAMZ.
Prior to that, his career comprised almost 14 years of international banking, focusing on the trade finance sector. Before entering the private sector, Mr. Frank served as an Intelligence Officer at the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, initially assigned to the Agency’s Operations Centre, Office of Current Intelligence, Soviet Union/East Europe Desk, and then subsequently to the Joint Intelligence Command, CIA Station (US Embassy), London. Mr. Frank received a B.A. in International Politics from Brandeis University and an M.A.L.D from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
