Head of Credit & Political Risk at Canopius

Stephen Pike is the Head of Credit and Political Risk at Canopius where he oversees a global business covering corporate and sovereign credit risk. Stephen over the last 3 years has also built out a Portfolio Solutions team at Canopius to provide clients with a wide range of credit insurance solutions.

Prior to Canopius, Stephen was at ED&F Man Capital Markets where he co-led the build out of the global trade finance business across the group’s commodity divisions and led the global trade finance team in London.

He began his career at Merrill Lynch first in the Mergers and Acquisitions team before moving to the Leverage Finance team. Subsequently joining Cyrus Capital Partners, a credit focused special situations fund investing in securities and loans issued by both corporates and sovereigns.
