Mohan is Chief Executive of Emerge Inc., advisory firm based on the principle that personal and
business transformation accelerate companies centered on a cause greater than themselves.
He is an investor, educator, proven 8x entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and 3x book author.
For 10 years prior, Mohan served as Chief Innovation Officer, Senior VP of Cambia Health
Solutions, an $9.8 Billion US parent company of 20 businesses all focused on a common cause
to transform healthcare. He held that role, using his theory of transformation/innovation,
transforming the internal culture, accelerating problems to solutions and creating and launching
6 startups in 9 years creating and leading a high performance team with talent way smarter than
him.
For 7 years prior, Mohan was Chief Marketing Executive and Executive VP for Regence Blue
Cross Blue Shield leading all front end functions for the multi-billion dollar firm. He was tasked
by the CEO to run all 5 Regence BlueCross BlueShield plans (Utah, Idaho, Washington,
Oregon) for two years with the CEO. He has been in President roles of successful emerging
businesses, one in cost/performance management and the other in the beginnings of networks,
with two exits with McAfee and SAS. Apart from emerging businesses, he has held leadership
roles in large high-functioning organizations namely Mentor Graphics Corporation and Intel
where he experience the birth of the technology industry.
Recognized in forbes.com as a pioneer in cultural transformation of organizations using
innovation as catalyst, Mohan was also named him Marketing Exec of Year in 2009 by The
Marketing Leadership Council. He served as council member to Frost & Sullivan, writes for
forbes.com, Innovation Leader, and is a featured contributor to Ariana Huffington’s ThriveGlobal
network. Mark Benioff, co-CEO Salesforce says “Mohan gets it: companies will only do well by
doing good.” Dr. Philip Kotler, international author and thought leader in Marketing, declares
“Nair offers wise guidance on making the right strategic moves.”
His most recent book is Strategic Business Transformation: the 7 deadly sins to avoid (Wiley &
Sons, 2010). He has authored 2 other books and over 15 journal articles on performance
measurement/strategy and servant leadership.
Mohan taught executive courses as adjunct professor of business at JL Kellogg School of
Management for ten years. He has lectured in the most sought-after class on business
transformation at University of Oregon executive MBA and is advising the President of George
Fox University. Mohan is a TED talk speaker where he outlines his unique business
transformation philosophy.
He has served the United States in as a member of the Government’s Committee on
Performance and Accountability for the State of Oregon and, at the national level, was called by
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to serve 3 years on the AHIC Chronic Care
Workgroup.
Many find it surprising that Mohan was a Singapore TV talk show host, a musician with 20
music copyrighted songs to his name and played the bagpipes and the guitar. He is also the
first healthcare executive to have auditioned and lost at America's Got Talent.
