Frank KehlenbachDirector at EUROPEAN INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTORS
Frank Kehlenbach is a lawyer by profession with a special experience in the field of European and international law. He started his working career in 1996 at the Federation of German Industries (BDI). In 1997, he joined the German Construction Industry Federation where his responsibility comprised the administration of European International Contractors (EIC). In 2001, Frank became Director of EIC as well as Director of International Relations in the German Construction Industry Federation. Since being appointed as EIC Director, Frank has been in charge of the publication of five EIC Contractor’s Guides to the FIDIC 1999 standard forms of contract. He has also overseen EIC’s publications on Public-Private Partnerships and lately EIC’s Corporate Responsibility Report. Presently, Frank coordinates the work of EIC Working Groups on various subject matters, such as Africa, Contract Conditions, Corporate Responsibility and World Bank Procurement. EIC is a European industry federation which has as its members construction federations from 15 European countries and represents the interests of the European construction industry related to its international activities. To this end, EIC lobbies all European and international organisations, which provide finance for international construction projects and/or set procurement policies and other regulatory rules impacting on the international construction business, such as the European Commission, EIB and EBRD as well as the World Bank and the OECD. EIC also liaises with relevant non-governmental organisations, such as FIDIC.
