Lina Tutunji is a public procurement professional with over 20 years of experience in procurement and project management with government, UNDP, GIZ and the World Bank. Ms. Tutunji is currently a Senior Procurement Specialist at the World Bank Solutions and Innovations in Procurement Department of the Governance Global Practice, in the MENA region.Throughout her work with the World Bank, Ms. Tutunji contributed to a wide variety of procurement activities in different sectors including infrastructure (water, energy, transport), human development (education health, social protection) and others. In addition, Ms. Tutunji contributed to the Bank's efforts in promoting public procurement reform dialogue and in supporting the implementation of such reforms in client countries in the MENA region, including Palestine, Jordan, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.  This includes support to the development of legal and regulatory frameworks for public procurement, designing institutional arrangements and elaboration of practices and procedures that are consistent with international best practices, as well as support to the development of standard procurement documents, e-procurement systems and strategies for capacity building and professionalization of the procurement function. In 2014, Ms. Tutunji led a study of the political economy of procurement reform, which aimed at better understanding the factors affecting or impeding the implementation of the reform in Morocco and Jordan. She also made noteworthy contributions to procurement capacity building in the MENA region. Since March 2019, Ms. Tutunji has been leading the World Bank program of advisory services to Ministry of Finance in KSA aimed at modernizing the public procurement system. In July 2019, she moved to Kuwait where she oversees the World Bank’s engagements on public procurement in all countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Ms. Tutunji is a Palestinian National. She holds an MBA and a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering
