Charles is the Global Head of Mobile and Smart Channels for Wealth & Personal Banking. Charles’ team designs, builds and runs digital solutions for the Bank’s retail banking customers globally. His focus is on developing leading digital customer experiences, which are fast, easy and secure across mobile, web and staff channels, as well as using data to make customer interactions more personal and relevant.
Charles is also the Regional Head of Digital in Asia Pacific. He focuses on growing the digital capabilities of our people within country teams and expanding the commercial impact of digital channels in our Bank’s largest region.
Prior to HSBC, Charles held senior leadership positions at American Express including running the International Strategy group, leading Amex UK’s Brand and Customer Management team and managing Amex’s World Service change programme. In addition, Charles spent 8 years co-founding start-ups in mobile payments and multiplayer computer games. Charles started his career in consulting with Marakon Associates and has an Engineering degree from Cambridge University.
Charles is married with 4 children. Outside of work he enjoys spending time in France and sailing.
