Ross LeckowSenior Adviser Fintech at BIS Innovation Hub
Ross Leckow Ross joined the BIS Innovation Hub in September 2019 as Senior Adviser Fintech – Strategy and Legal.
Before joining the BIS, Ross served as Deputy General Counsel in the IMF in Washington, DC. Ross led the Legal Department’s work on IMF surveillance and crisis lending to member countries, the design of the legal and policy framework governing all aspects of the IMF’s activities, and the reform of member countries’ financial sectors. Following the 2008 financial crisis, Ross directed the IMF’s legal work on a global framework for cross-border bank resolution, and subsequently served as co-chair of the IMF’s Interdepartmental Working Group on Finance and Technology that built the IMF’s extensive Fintech program.
Before joining the IMF, Ross practised law in the private and public sectors in Canada. He holds an LL.M. from York University (Toronto, Canada), an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba, and a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Winnipeg. He lectures frequently and has published extensively on issues of international monetary and financial law, including Fintech.
