Joe Dunleavy
Vice President, Innovation at Pramerica


In his current role, Joe Dunleavy is responsible for heading up the Pramerica Wave Innovation lab focused on Disruptive / Emerging Technology and Innovation Services.

Joe Dunleavy joined Pramerica Systems Ireland, a fully owned subsidiary of Prudential Financial, Inc. in 2005 as a Software Developer. Joe progressed through the Systems department to the role of Project Manager in 2007.  He was later promoted to the role of Systems Manager for Life Agency Compensation which required an extensive on-site presence at the Prudential offices in Roseland, New Jersey.  In March 2011, Joe became the Pramerica Head of Technology for Law, Compliance, Business Ethics and External Affairs (LCBE). In his role of Head of Technology, he oversaw Software Development, Quality Assurance (QA) and Professional Business Services (PBS) delivery which totalled circa 170 resources both on and offshore.  In 2015, Joe completed a three-year international rotation with his family from Pramerica to Prudential in the US where he was based in Newark, New Jersey. 

Joe's career began in 2001 with Microsoft, where he worked as a Software Test Engineer on products such as Hotmail and Messenger.  Following that role, he also worked in Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer supporting Microsoft Office.  After Microsoft, Joe became involved in a “.com startup” IT company based in his home town of Sligo called Nooked.  Joe’s positions at Nooked included Software Developer and Sales Manager.

Joe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing from Sligo Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business in Innovation and Leadership from Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
