Director of Compliance at Paxos

Christel Chan is currently the Director of Compliance at Paxos where she oversees Compliance initiatives concerning new product and licensing / market expansions along with Compliance and Risk system build outs. Christel has over 10 years of experience working in the Risk Management and Financial Crimes Compliance building out teams and scaling programs at companies in the startup phase - former companies include Stripe, Block (fka Square), and Zynga Game Network. Prior to joining Paxos, Christel worked at Stripe building out core Compliance systems, infrastructure, and policy to support Stripe’s international payments expansion into various APAC, LATAM, and EMEA markets along with building out new compliance programs to support Stripe’s product expansions in the banking and issuing space. At Block, Christel was a founding team member on the Compliance team where she worked on building up internal Compliance operations along with backend monitoring and reporting systems to support a growing team and new product expansions.
