Chief Compliance Officer at Paxos

Carolina Ceballos is the Chief Compliance Officer at Paxos where she ensures that all the regulatory requirements globally are met and is a trusted partner for clients on regulatory and Compliance issues. Prior to joining Paxos, Carolina provided strategic leadership to compliance teams responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing their compliance programs at Facebook Payments and Western Union. Prior to these roles, Carolina worked for the French Central Bank as a Payment System and Financial Market infrastructure Expert and led AML/CTF inspection missions. In parallel, she represented the French Supervisory Authority (ACPR) at Financial Action Task Force/ World Bank missions to strengthen the supervisory framework of countries in the Middle East and Africa. Carolina has held numerous positions in the private sector in major banking institutions including HSBC, Lazard and Lehman Brothers.

Carolina holds a master’s degree in business law with a major on anti-money laundering, fraud prevention and counter terrorist financing. In her spare time, Carolina closely follows the dynamics of conflict and organized crime in South America and their effects on societies, governments and businesses. She speaks fluently French, English and Spanish.
