David Cheng

David Cheng is a Principal at DCM, a global venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, Beijing and Tokyo with over $4.2 billion under management and a 25-year track record of top performance. In his role, David focuses on opportunities in the consumer internet, mobile applications, and Software-as-a-Service space. Having advised venture capital and hedge fund clients in the past as a consultant, David looks forward to utilizing his experiences and knowledge in order to find great companies with powerful stories. David is involved with portfolio companies such as Art19, Brigit, Coffee Meets Bagel, LARQ, Life360, Lime, Plenty, SoFi, Stockwell, Stride Health, UJET, X.ai, Musely, DXY, HaoDF and Bill.com (NYSE: BILL). David was included on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Venture Capital, featured on Venture Capital Journal’s 40 Rising Stars list and, most recently, named by Insider as a rising-star VC.

Prior to DCM, David spent time working at Accenture, Streeteasy (Acquired by Zillow) and Citibank. Born in the Bay Area, David received his B.A. from New York University.
