Mary Dent, Corporate Board Member and Consultant, Commonwealth

Mary is an experienced executive and corporate board member, with more than 30 years in the financial services and technology sectors. She has worked with companies ranging from early stage startups to large, publicly traded global enterprises. Previously, Mary served as CEO of Green Dot Bank, General Counsel and VP Public Policy of Silicon Valley Bank/SVB Financial Group, General Counsel of New Skies Satellites, and General Counsel of Insikt.

She is currently a Senior Advisor with Klaros Group, and in addition to Commonwealth, serves on boards including: Vestwell, a technology platform for workplace savings and investing programs; Woodruff Sawyer, one of the country’s largest privately-held insurance brokers; and Banking Circle U.S., a bank in formation that will provide domestic and international payment and foreign exchange services to banks and payment service providers. Mary formerly served on the boards of SeedFi (acquired by Intuit/Credit Karma), Aspiration, Green Dot Corp., and Green Dot Bank.

Mary is a graduate of Stanford Law School (JD 1989) and U.C.L.A. (BA, Economics, 1983).
