What to expect from Flame 2020

The decarbonisation imperative

The 2020 agenda places the role of gas firmly in the context of the broader climate debate, and brings the technologies needed to decarbonise the gas system into focus, including power-to-gas, blue hydrogen, biomethane and CCUS.

Decarbonisation will be the main theme of the second day of the conference, with presentations and panel discussions on the EU's new decarbonisation package and investment in low carbon projects.

Essential networking

Meet everyone you need to meet in the same spot.

Flame isn't a trade show, so our attendees are a select group – predominantly upper management and senior decision makers drawn from the LNG supply, utility, gas transmission, storage and shipping sectors.

See who attends
LNG market dynamics

Flame will provide a vantage point to take stock of the current FID wave and assess where new supply will come from post-2025. Are oversupply and low spot prices contributing to demand creation, and if so where?

LNG is a mainstay of the Flame agenda, but the most in-depth coverage of contracts, market conditions and portfolio optimisation will take place during the Global LNG Summit.

Infrastructure and investment

Discuss the impact of national policy on new pipelines, receive updates on project timelines and assess the consequences of geopolitical risk. Can the existing infrastructure accommodate increasing imports and lower indigenous production, or are new investments needed in inter-connectors and gas storage? What does the future hold for Ukraine, CEE and the Baltic region?

European gas market evolution

Assess the how the supply outlook, policy drivers, inter-fuel competition and new infrastructure are helping to shape the European gas market. What regulatory barriers stand in the way of closer market integration, and how can the gas industry help to facilitate sector coupling? Will the accelerated pace of Groningen production cuts adversely affect TTF liquidity and security of supply?

Flame Traders’ Day

Free to attend for natural gas, LNG, power and commodities traders, the Flame Traders' Day is an opportunity for natural gas professionals and senior traders to network and exchange insights.

Topics up for discussion will include the impacts of macro-economic trends, the challenges of hub trading, the outlook for gas market integration and the pace of digital transformation.
