Augustijn van HaasterenTeam leader Decarbonisation and sustainability of energy sources at DG Energy
Augustijn van Haasteren is a Dutch economist working for the European Commission. Since 2003, his assignments are related to energy market development. He currently works for the unit within DG Energy responsible for ‘Decarbonisation and Sustainability of Energy Sources’ where he develops an initiative related to hydrogen markets. Previously, he worked within DG Energy on internal energy market related issues and coordinated the legislative process for the electricity market design components of the Commission's 'Clean Energy for All Europeans' package and dealt with the energy related matters in the restructuring programme for Greece. Prior to his assignments in DG Energy, he worked in DG Competition where he enforced the antitrust and merger control rules, including in the IT, media and energy sectors.
