Daniel Muthmann

Chairman at European Hydrogen Backbone Initiative

Daniel Muthmann is a recognized European energy expert and thought leader with 25 years of profound experience in international energy markets, in particular gas, LNG and hydrogen following various senior corporate roles including in sales, trading, long-term supply and infrastructure, working for Ruhrgas, BP, E.ON and one of Europe’s largest gas TSOs OGE. He was also the founder and managing director of the consultancy boutique global gas partners and head of the advisory board of hydrogen consultancy evety. Daniel is the founder and was the first chairman of the European Hydrogen Backbone Initiative in Brussels. In 2023 he joined Berkeley Research Group (“BRG”) as managing director responsible to develop the energy and climate market practice in the EMEA region. He is an industrial engineer by education.
