Donia El Mazghouny

Donia is the founder and managing partner of Mazghouny & Co, a boutique law firm in Cairo with a focus on energy, projects, and infrastructure financing. Prior to launching the practice, Donia was a partner with a tier 1 law firm in Cairo, where she headed the Energy & Projects team. She regularly advises on solar and wind projects in Egypt, and has recently advised on the first green hydrogen and green ammonia projects being developed in the country, the first solar with battery storage projects, and advised sponsors on the first green project bonds issued in Egypt worth USD 334.5 million.

Donia is also the Power Law Committee Secretary-Treasurer of the International Bar Association (IBA), and a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN). She holds an LL.M. in International Financial Law from King’s College London (UK), a Master in International and European Business Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France), and an LL.B. from Cairo University.

She is recognised for her work in the energy and projects & infrastructure legal field by prestigious peer reviews such as The Legal500, Chambers and Partners, and Who’s Who Legal.
