Sophie-Anne Baril SachsPolicy Advisor, Office of Investment Security, Policy and International Relations at U.S. Department of Treasury
Sophie is a policy advisor with the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Investment Security. In this role, she coordinates the reviews and investigations by the interagency Committee on Foreign Investment of the United States (CFIUS) of the national security effects of cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and other investments. In 2020, she co-led the launch of the real estate transaction intake and review process. Prior to this role, she managed a global membership portfolio of 300+ international development NGO’s. She received her B.A. in International Studies from Nova Southeastern University and her M.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University with concentrations in trade, illicit finance, and development. Sophie speaks French, Haitian Creole, and English.
