Lei FuFounder & CIO at Y2 Capital Partners
Lei FU (富雷) is the Founder and CIO of Y2 Capital Partners, a start-up asset management firm to seek alpha from ESG opportunities in Asia/China markets, to drive Asia's contribution to global sustainable growth, and to advocate responsible capitalism. As an ESG-enthusiastic hedge fund veteran with over 16 years of industry experience, Lei is also an Advisory Council Member of ChinaSIF (China Social Investment Forum), a non-profit organization in China to promote ESG investments among investors and other stakeholders.
Most recently, he was Managing Director & Head of China at Sculptor Capital ("Sculptor", formerly "Och-Ziff Capital"). During his 13 years with Sculptor, Lei oversaw China long/short equity investments in selected sectors by successfully identifying cycles & themes, sourcing/researching bottom-up investment ideas, actively engaging with portfolio companies and leading equity capital markets transactions. Lei also served on Sculptor Asia Operation Committee and had led regional business development as the Chairman & Legal Rep for Sculptor Shanghai WFOE.
Prior to joining Sculptor in 2007, Lei was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong and New York. As a member of the Natural Resources Group, he advised on M&A and financing transactions in the energy sector.
Lei graduated from Peking University in 2004 with B.A. in International Finance (Hon.) and M.A. in Accounting. He has obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business at the University of Cambridge and also an Executive Diploma in Sustainable Finance and Investment at Hong Kong University. Lei is a Certified Sustainable Development Planner (CSDP) as awarded by the World Institute of Sustainable Development Planners (WISDP).
