Association of Private Airport Operators (APAO) is an apex industry body which represents the interest of the major PPP Airports in India. APAO interacts with Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), DGCA, BCAS, AAI etc. on policy issues relating to Civil Aviation in general and Airport sector in particular. APAO also closely works with various other Ministries / Govt. Bodies (MoF, Niti Aayog), similar Industry Associations / Industry bodies (including ACI) and contributes in all discussions / decisions pertaining to development of the Civil Aviation sector of the country. APAO also interact actively with AERA for participating with the evolving Regulatory process as initiated by AERA. APAO members are presently constituted by the five major PPP Airports in India which are Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) & Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) and two upcoming Greenfield PPP airports which are GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) and Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL). APAO member airports together handle more than 60% of air passenger traffic and 70% of air Cargo traffic in the country.
