Kevin BumenChief Commercial Officer at San Francisco International Airport
Kevin Bumen became the first Chief Commercial Officer of San Francisco International Airport in October 2020.
Prior to taking up his current post in September 2020, Kevin Bumen served as the Director of Airports for the County of San Luis Obispo from 2013. He oversaw the Airports Department operation and management of San Luis Obispo County Regional and Oceano Airports. He directed the construction of a new airline terminal which includes six gates and facilities for three airlines and four rental car companies. The project won multiple awards for its design and partnered approach to development. The airport experienced significant air service growth over the past 3 years nearly doubling the annual enplanements. It was also ranked by Airports Council International as the 5th fastest growing non-hub airport in the United States.
Mr. Bumen had also served as the Director of Aviation at the Truckee Tahoe Airport District for over 10 years before his tenure in San Luis Obispo.
He developed a love of aviation growing up in an Air Force family and learning to fly while in high school. He is an active pilot with over 26 years of aviation experience. Mr. Bumen earned his Bachelors of Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives. He is the Past President of the California Airports Council and serves as the Southern California Director to the Southwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives.
