Alison R. Smith is a Partner at Rethink Capital Partners. Rethink Capital Partners is the impact investment platform within Seavest Investment Group. Rethink focuses on financial and social returns including gender equity, education, health, environmental sustainability, economic empowerment, and community development. To date, Rethink Capital Partners has launched four venture strategies: Rethink Education, Rethink Impact, Rethink Food and Rethink Community.

Alison has over 15 years of experience in working with families and foundations. In 2017, Alison entered the impact investing space and joined Cornerstone Capital Group as Managing Director. Cornerstone is a registered investment advisor, that serves clients who want their investments to contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive world without sacrificing financial performance.

Prior to joining Cornerstone, Alison worked at TIGER 21, an investment think-tank and a community for high-net-worth individuals. Before joining TIGER 21, Alison worked at Marina Maher Communications, where she focused on media and investor relations. Alison also worked at the United Nations Association, where she coordinated and oversaw events across the nation, represented UNA at public speaking events, researched and wrote articles, and managed relationships with partners.

Alison is a graduate from Fordham University Graduate School of Business with an MBA in Finance and Marketing. She earned her BA at Ithaca College. Alison served on the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Advisory Board and regularly gives time as a mentor of a teen mother through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. She is currently an adjunct professor.  Alison and her husband live in New York City with their children and puppy.
