JonMarc Buffa is a Senior Trial Attorney in the Office of Cooperative Enforcement at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Mr. Buffa engages in federal court prosecution of violators of the federal derivatives laws, including hedge fund litigations. Mr. Buffa previously served as Special Counsel and Policy Advisor to former CFTC Commissioner Scott D. O'Malia where he advised the Commissioner on the implementation and promulgation of regulations pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Act. In addition to his work at the CFTC, Mr. Buffa is an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to joining the CFTC, Mr. Buffa was an attorney at three major national and international law firms. He is a graduate of Notre Dame Law School and Boston College’s Carroll School of Management.
