Global Head of Prime Custody, Alternative Investment Services at BNY Mellon

Profile

Currently, Scott Kern is the Global Prime Custody Segment Head.  He is responsible for leading our Prime Custody strategy, growing our prime custody service to hedge funds, globally.  He leads business execution, revenue expansion & product strategy.   Previously, Scott was Global Head of Prime Custody Client Service for BNY Mellon’s Alternative Investment Services business, a leading provider of hedge fund, private equity, fund of fund administration and prime custody services. Scott was appointed to this role in 2016 and is primarily responsible for providing prime custody services for alternative clients. Scott was previously North American head of client services for Prime Custody and has extensive experience with alternative managers, major integration initiatives, and expansion of our global service model.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2009, Scott was a Relationship Manager for UBS, LLC in the Fixed Income Derivatives Group after spending roughly six years at Lehman Brothers Prime Brokerage Group in numerous capacities including Client Service, Product Management, Business Development. Prior to working at Lehman Brothers, Scott spent five years at Goldman Sachs & Co in their Private Wealth Management group, spanning operational and Client Technology Solutions.

Scott holds a degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University. He currently serves as a Trustee, strategic planning chair for the New York City Archdiocese Regional School Board. Also, Scott served as a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church finance council from Sept, 2014 through the end of 2015.  Additionally, Scott previously held various condominium board of directors positions (President & Treasurer) in New York City where he currently lives with his wife (Andrea) and five children (Abigail, Hannah, Hudson, Cooper & Adeline).
