Peter SandellSenior Lecturer at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences / CMI Comittee
Peter was born 1968 in Helsinki, Finland. He graduated from University of Turku Faculty of law 1994 as Master of laws and has been working as research fellow Scandinavian Maritime Law institute in University of Oslo 1997-2002 and received his Licentiate of Laws Degree 2002 from University of Turku in Finland.
Peter has been trained at bench at the Circuit Court of Turku and he has also worked as a deputy Circuit Court Judge in criminal and maritime law divisions of the Court.
Peter is currently holding a Senior Lecturer position at the Satakunta University of applied sciences, where he is responsible for International Master of Maritime Management Program. He has published several articles on law of salvage, General Average, Marine insurance and other maritime law topics. Peter has written tens of legal opinions and worked as a mediator relating to salvage and GA cases. He has also completed Average adjusters training and received average adjusters examination 1998. From 2012 to 2016 Peter was a member of CMI international working group that renewed the York-Antwerp Rules and prepared the York-Antwerp Rules 2016.
