Ian LennardPresident at National Cargo Bureau
Ian Lennard has been the President of National Cargo Bureau since April 1, 2010. The National Cargo Bureau is a not-for-profit company, dedicated to the Safety of Life and Cargoes at Sea founded by the U.S. Coast Guard, and has offices serving all U.S. seaports. He joined National Cargo Bureau in 1997 and has held various positions including Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
In April 2018 NCB purchased UK-based Exis Technologies, a global leader in solutions for the management of dangerous goods in sea transport for over 30 years. Ian is instrumental in working with Exis, container lines and industry partners in the development of containerized dangerous goods cargo management initiatives to help improve safety in the supply chain.
Prior to joining the Cargo Bureau, Ian enjoyed nine years with Zim Shipping Company where he held various management positions.
Ian graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School earning his Juris Doctor. In 1988 Ian graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh with a double major of Business and Economics. Ian serves on the Council of Trustees of the United Seaman’s Service and is a member of the following organizations:
