Mr. Milan Godin, LL.M., is a legal advisor at the strategic goods unit of the Flanders Department of Foreign Affairs, one of the regional export control units in Belgium.
Apart from legal advice for regional export policy and legislation and towards exporters, he analyses and advises dual use export licence applications. He also coordinates on dual use matters between the Belgian regions and export control units and represents Belgium in the European Commission and European Council dual use meetings. In terms of international export control regimes, he follows in particular the Nuclear Supplier Group - Licensing and Enforcement and Information Exchange Meetings – for Belgium.
Milan Godin studied law and holds an LL.M. in European Union Law at Ghent University in Belgium. He previously practiced law in the private sector in Washington D.C. and Brussels, and held a temporary post at the Legal Service of the European Commission before taking up his position at the Flemish export control unit in 2014.
