After highschool for engineering and 1 year in the navy Marcus completed education as an able bodied seaman and 2 years later as ships mechanic. In summary he spent more than 16 years on sea.
In 1995 he came ashore and went to south Germany, working as a system mechanic in the industry until today.
Sailing since his youth, in the late 90s the idea of environmental changings via wind-for-propulsion on cargo ships came into his mind. Running a business in rigging, sailmaking and boat maintenance developments keeps him busy since then. The main point is the assembling of conventional rigging in actual state of technology, including energy management for the reason of availability on the market without any pre-expenses.
in addition to the ongoing common development to ´SS Eileen - sailing coaster´ is the idea of an alternative investment option. In the end it shows a kind of leasing of the whole equipment for assisting wind propulsion. Especially for the upgrading of existing vessels ( coaster ) it could be an alternative to persuade owner to make decisions in case ....
